Beyond the figures

We don't stop at your accounts.

Keeping a company's books means seeing what it pays every month. Two items come back again and again: insurance and property. They are also the two where a closer look brings back the most money.

Insurance advice and comparison

The company's insurance — and yours

Occupational pension (LPP), accident insurance (LAA), daily sickness allowance, professional liability, legal expenses: a small company's policies pile up over the years and nobody reads them again. We go through them one by one, compare them with the market, and tell you what is excessive, what is missing and what overlaps.

Property advice

The premises, the company and the tax bill

Renting, buying through the company or privately, taking a building out of an SA: the same transaction can cost a great deal or almost nothing depending on how it is structured. The difference is decided before signing, not when the tax assessment arrives.

Buying through the company or privately: we cost both
A building on the balance sheet: depreciation and hidden reserves
Sale, transfer and property gains tax
Business handovers that include property
First discussion free of charge Describe the transaction you have in mind in a few lines. The first discussion is free of charge: we tell you what is worth costing out, and what can wait.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about accounting and company formation

What business owners ask us most often before handing over their books.

How much does it cost to set up a Sàrl?

From CHF 1’400, fixed price, all fees included. You know the total before we start; there is nothing to add afterwards.

We advise you on the legal form and the capital, prepare your file and coordinate everyone involved; you sign. We then guide you through your registration obligations, and you start with your accounting ready from day one.

When do I have to register for VAT?

As soon as your worldwide turnover from taxable supplies reaches CHF 100’000 over twelve months. Below that, registration is voluntary — which can be worthwhile if you have significant investments to reclaim input tax on, or if your clients are VAT-registered themselves.

We look at your situation and take care of the registration with you.

VAT: net tax rate method or effective method?

The net tax rate method — often called the flat-rate method — is available if your taxable turnover does not exceed CHF 5’024’000 incl. VAT and your tax liability CHF 108’000 per year. It makes the work far simpler: a single rate applied to turnover, two VAT returns a year instead of four, and no input tax to track.

It is not always the cheaper option. If you buy a lot of goods or invest heavily, the effective method often pays off more. We compare the two on your real figures before choosing — the choice binds you for one year.

What are the VAT rates in Switzerland?

The standard rate is 8.1%. The reduced rate of 2.6% applies to food, medicines, books and newspapers, among others. The special rate of 3.8% applies to accommodation.

I already do my own bookkeeping: can you do the year-end closing only?

Yes, that is a common arrangement. We carry out a high-level review of your bookkeeping, then prepare the annual accounts, the notes and the company's tax return. We work with whichever accounting software you use, so nothing changes in your habits.

It is the least expensive option, and it works well if you keep your entries up to date. If you would rather stop thinking about it, we take on the lot: bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and year-end closing.

Do you work with one particular software?

We work with your software; we don't impose ours. If you don't have one yet, we recommend the one that fits your activity and set it up for you.

Everything is done online: your documents reach us through a secure link or a shared folder, you keep access to your accounts and you can see where your financial year stands.
